Welcome Back to School!!!

Wow! This summer has flown by for me and I am sure it has for all of you too. I hope you are all ready for the upcoming school year. This year will be exciting and full of wonderful discoveries by all of us! This web page is designed to assist students and parents in developing the skills for life long learning and also to complement the curriculum with web sites and extra activities that support my students' learning. Each month this website will be updated with focus skills in reading, math, writing, social studies, and science. In addition, student samples will be posted to celebrate students' progress.

Now, I am sure many of you of wondering who is Ms. DeLuce? You may recognize me or heard your child speak about "Crazy Silly Ms. D", but I wanted to give you a little of my background information so you are familar with your child's teacher. I have taught at Elizondo since 2004 and have been a teacher in Clark County since 2001. Before this, I taught in Cobb County in Georgia. My experience teaching children began at the Etowah Indian Mounds in Cartersville, Georgia, where I was the on-site archaeologist and interpretive ranger. I have a Bachelor of Art's degree in anthropology from San Diego State University, a Master's of Arts degree from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University. I am a Nationally Board Certified Teacher which I received in 2007. This year, I plan to begin my doctorate program in Curriculum and Instruction. I consider myself a lifelong learner and I always "practice what I teach".
